what makes us who we are

Product Information & Laundry care

WHAT FABRICS DO WE USE?

There are two key materials in the fabrics we have specifically chosen for our sports bra and leggings --> Polyester and Nylon. Each fabric is then blended with four-way Spandex, which allows the fabric to stretch and regain its original shape. Both of these fabrics are soft to the touch, anti-bacterial, sweat-wicking, long lasting and lightweight.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FIT, TYPE OF LENGTH OR RISE?

As with most activewear, our fabrics have a decent amount of stretch. If you do fall in between sizes, you should be able to fit both depending on the type of fit you prefer. We will also indicate on the product description itself should the sizing for a particular piece run smaller or larger. Otherwise, remember to refer to the sizing chart to ensure you get the right size.

TYPES OF LENGTH:

Full-length: These leggings cover the entire leg and reach all the way down to your ankles. Designed with a goal of having little or no gaps between the bottom of the pant and the top of your foot.

Cropped length: Commonly known as capris. These leggings stop just below your knees, on your shin.

7/8 length: These leggings have an inseam that is 1/8th shorter than a full-length style. While they are not as short as cropped leggings, they typically rest higher on the leg than an average pair of sports leggings. It can be a full-length choice for petite-sized ladies.

TYPES OF RISE:

Ultra High-Rise: Waistband will reach to your waistline.

High-Rise: Waistband will cover your navel and be slightly below waist level. This is our signature Gym Squad Active high-rise.

Mid-Rise: Styles that hit you between your hip and just below your navel.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR ACTIVEWEAR?

Gentle cycle and cold water
Always wash them with cold water because heat can decrease the lifespan of stretchy fabrics. Hand-wash is always the best option but you can choose to select the “delicates” button on your washing machine.

Wash inside out
Turn everything inside-out to safeguard colors. Also, most of the gross stuff tends to accumulate inside your gym clothes, not outside.

Avoid fabric softener and bleaching
Fabric softener can decrease the moisture wicking function and bleaching can destroy the fibres of spandex.

Avoid tumble dry
Air dry your clothes, or use the lowest heat setting on your dryer. Again, high heat can cause damage or shrinkage.

Keep the temperature low
Ironing is usually unnecessary for activewear that are hang-dried as the fabric will not crease much.

Tips for going the extra mile

Before washing, soak your gear in a mixture of cold water and add half a cup of white vinegar for 15 to 30 minutes. This helps to eliminate odours while breaking down any filth that might have built up during and after your workout.
